This is just a very quick update on accessible accommodation and a potential accessible accommodation Guide :)
I met with Martin Miller (Head of Accommodation) and Sana (Wellbeing Officer) today to discuss the accessible/adapted accommodation provisions that the University offers and what can be improved.
Whilst there is currently very little to report back on to you all, I discussed the need for transparency and communication with students on their needs and what can be provided, and made the suggestion of creating an Accessible Accommodation guide that lays out exactly what they offer/can do to help and adapt for students needs.
I am pleased to say Martin agrees the guide is a good idea, and that he hopes to have a first draft for me to review in late October/early November. With the end goal being to finish the guide before the January accommodation applications begin. I am really impressed with his swift response and clear drive to provide an easier to follow and more student orientated accessible accommodation experience! :)
