Just a quick update on looking at an accessible map/route planner...
After speaking to Laurence Perkins (Head of Security) about the potential of adding this feature during the introduction of the SafeZone app on campus, he took the idea forward to the app developers. Whilst an accessible routes cover face does exist for the administrators/command team, it currently is not accessible to users of the app as it would involve taking up a lot of storage space on the device. He has however inquired to the developers whether it would be possible to add it as a feature for certain user groups, so that it only takes up storage of those who genuinely need the feature.
I will keep you all updated on whether this is a possibility.
Me and Chloe (Activities Officer) also tasked Chris Harrison (Estates) with looking at whether the University are able to integrate something like this into their own map systems during our meeting a few days ago. So hopefully if a solution can't come through SafeZone we can still make this happen another way.
